Weekly News Update – Week 39

Congratulations to Paul Scrivener who Holed-in-One at the 9th hole in the Monday morning roll-up.  See previous post of Paul retrieving his ball.

Round up of this weeks competitions and Club matches:

Ladies section: Despite a soaking wet Thursday morning, Chrissie Pearce managed to score a magnificent 37 points to win the Golf Foundation Brooch, proceeds from this competition go to help junior girls golf across the country.  Eight Sherborne ladies travelled to Bulbury Woods on Friday for the Dorset County Vets Greensomes competition, with Meredith Christopher and Angela Heysham coming a very creditable third in a large field.  Another eight ladies on the same day travelled to Dudsbury for a ‘special’ Friendly match to celebrate their club’s 25th Anniversary; we had been especially invited to play as Sherborne were the first Ladies away team to play on their course in 1992.

Seniors section: win the Knighton Heath Trophy Plate final at Knighton Heath defeating Bramshaw 5 1/2 – 4 1/2.

Club friendlies, wins against:

Weymouth 4 1/2 – 1 1/2
Enmore 5 1/2 – 2 1/2
Knighton Heath 3 1/2 – 2 1/2

Mens Section: Ffooks Cup winner Matt Chant net 70

Well done to the Finalists for reaching the Summer Matchplay KO competitions.
