September Course Update
The new 18th tee was successfully constructed during the renovation week. The hill in front of the fairway has been graded down and the soil was used to widen and lengthen the new tee.
The tee was lowered by 200mm to help stabilise the road side bank and the historical wet patch was removed, filled with stone then the whole tee had five lateral drains installed. A 75mm deep stone carpet was then laid over the drains and 100mm of root zone was laser levelled on top. A new irrigation system was installed by the greenstaff and then sown with tees mix seed. The tee has been covered with germination sheets to speed up sward establishment.
A path has been constructed which runs from the winter tee to the start of the fairway. We would encourage you all to use this path until the Spring. A temporary woodchip path has been laid from the 17th green to the 18th winter tee. This path will be removed and the area will be sown in the Spring.
A new blue tee has also been constructed at the top of the path. This will come into play in the Spring.
The contractors also constructed the new 9th winter tee leaving the greenstaff to astro turf the top and seed the banks.
With the help of a member, we will start addressing the wet area just to the left of the 16th green this week. The wet area on the 12th approach will hopefully be carried out by a contractor before the end of October.
